Me (for the first time ever)!

Kaylee, Emma, and me! (above)
Me at Christmas 2 yrs. ago.

I am Sarah Chapman! I'm 11 yrs. old and the 2nd oldest of 6. I love playing basketball, the piano, writing, and reading. My BFF's are EmmaLee and Kaylee. I like to think that I'm Jacob's FAVORITE, but no one knows if that's really true. Well, I was just informed by EmmaLee that she thinks it's true, so I have 2 people for that. I love the beach more than the pool. Here's a list of my favorite things:

  • dinner food- steak sandwiches and rolls
  • Dessert- chocolate chip cookies w/vanilla ice-cream.
  • color- yellow or green
  • summer activity- beach!
  • sister- Emmalee

School's (almost) Out!

School gets out in 2 weeks! This year has been great, and I have made many friends this year. Some of my closest friends this year were Ari, Bridget, Marley, Cricket, Johanna, and, always and forever, EmmaLee and Kaylee. My amazing teachers, Mrs. Greene and Harte, were always there when I needed help, or anyone else in my class. Some of my favorite activities we did during the school year were our mock trial, our 5 field trips, all the math games we played with our student teacher, Ms. Laura, and all the lists of supplies or laws or games we would make for history. And, of course, recces, lunch, and Bill Nye the Science Guy.
I have been to a lot of schools, and this one is my 2nd favorite (home school was my 1st.) ! As much as I will miss Paloma and elementary school, I cannot wait for summer to come. I look forward to long days of doing nothing or spending all day at the pool or beach.
Watch out summer, here I come!! And watch out San Marcos Middle School, 'cause I'm coming to you, too!

An Amazing Experience

First, I would like to apologize again for not blogging for the longest time. Second, I just had to say that, well, I am now 11. Pretty cool stuff.
What I really wanted to write about was the April 2011 General Conference. I was lucky enough to get to go to the LDS Conference Center in Salt Lake City. We, meaning my mom, my Aunt Laura, my cousin Calvin, and I, all went to the Saturday Morning Session. It was great to get to see all the general authorities come into the conference center and take their seats. They were hugging and bumping each other lovingly. We heard the Tabernacle Choir warming up before the session started. It seemed so spiritual, even before the first talk! I enjoyed watching, listening, and simply feeling what God wanted us to hear. All the talks seemed more spiritual than they normally are when I just listen to them at home. Then, when the choir and congregation sang together, it was like angels were singing with us. My mom wondered if that is what it would be like when the angels sang in heaven. I loved that. Many very good talks were given during all sessions. I urge you to read or listen to some of the talks given.
After we watched this session, we went to the north visitor center, the Beehive House, and the big Deseret Bookstore they have there. I loved it!

Book review : The Puzzling World of Wintson Breen

This book is a hard to put down novel about a treasure chase. A rich man of the city is long deceased, and he has set a puzzle up for his children. He leaves a series of complicated puzzles and clues leading to a very expensive ring, the 1st of which is some wooden strips with words on them. Soon these strips fall into the hands of 2 treasure hunters and, of course, Winston. They proceed to find the ring, stumbling upon the way. Read this exciting adventure. I also highly recommend the great sequel, which is not really a sequel, it just features Winston; The Potato Chip Puzzles.
5 stars for this one!

Joshua

this pic. is pretty old, but joshua still does this now, 1 year later!

Joshua's yearly photo.

Joshua is next to the youngest in a family with 6 kids. Josh is 4 and is our funny man. Hey, have you noticed that all the boys in my family have names tarting with "J"? Just so you know, I did not just barely notice that for the first time. Actually, before we had Jacob, we decided his name had to start with J. But I'm not writing about Jacob right now. Joshua is the funniest little kid! He has had surgery by his eye and had to get stitches at a different time in the same place. Our Dog, Betty (see next post for more info on betty), bit him next to the opposite eye. He is a major Lego fan. Here are some facts about Josh:
1. He loves to play on the trampoline.
2. He loves playing batman toys with Joseph.
3. Josh enjoys wearing his knight costume.
4. Joshua's favorite games are "All The Powers" and Mario. He plays them with Joseph all the time.

Joseph

Joseph's yearly photo. He's so cute!

Joseph looks upon everything with a smile.

Joseph, or Joey as I like to call him, is nearly in the middle of 6 kids (just like Emma, see previous post). Joey is 6 and is going strong... oh, sorry 6 and a half, like he just reminded me. He is in first grade and enjoys the walk to and from school. He is very bright and likes to wrestle with Joshua and Jared. Joey is getting stronger every day. Here are some random facts about Joseph:

1. His favorite sport is soccer or basketball.
2. His favorite color is green (like me!).
3. He really likes Mario and skateboarding.
4. In his spare time he plays games with Joshua.

Book review: The girl who could fly

THE GIRL WHO COULD FLY is a must read. The plot is unpredictable;the story totally turns around 3 or 4 different times. Piper (the main character) learns that just being yourself will guide you through life. An awesome book on friendship & standing up for yourself.

Jared, the oldest of 6, is doing good. He is 12.He says it is hard to be the oldest, and I believe him. He likes many sports, mainly football and basketball. He is good at both, too. He is a very nice older bro, any one would enjoy to be his sibling. Here are some other facts on this awesome kid.

  1. He likes playing board games;
  2. His favorite board game is trump.
  3. We all agree that he is the BEST babysitter!
  4. He is veeeeery intelligent
You should meet my cool bro!

EmmaLee

EmmaLee, nearly in the middle of 6, is our girl. She is 8,just baptised, and very energetic. She is our sunshine and is constantly lighting up our lives. Emma can make any one happy. EmmaLee is a young artist, and is always coming up with new art projects. She plays basketball, like most of the Chapman kids, and she is good. She is one tall girl and is growing up to quickly for my liking. Here are some more facts about Emma:
1. She is a great swimmer.
2. Her favorite color is blue, the color of the sky.
3. Emma loves playing Uno into the night with me (shhh... don't tell my mom!).
4. We love playing trivia pursuit (disney style), but without the board or anything. We pretend it is a game show.
